About Me

Hi! Thanks for visiting the Fifth Edition Fallout wiki! I hope you enjoy reading this content—and hopefully playing it!—as much as I enjoy creating it. I'm Ross, and I make content for Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying game systems.
I'm the creative mind behind Spilled Ale Studios, the brand under which I both publish content and blog thought experiments and free materials.

Fifth Edition Fallout began life as a series of articles on my blog aimed at walking the reader through the process of hacking rules to model a new setting/genre/game experience, illustrating the sort of things the hacker needs to consider. I chose Fallout as my example because I love the world, and I was probably playing through one of the games again at the time! At a certain point, my work on the hack evolved from an example into a larger personal project: I began compiling the rules I'd created into a single reference PDF. Then I just kept working on it: expanding, replacing, and tweaking until the hack evolved—and evolved **dramatically*—into the form you see now. Eventually, the popularity of the hack grew enough that I began to consider it worth my efforts to port all of what I'd created over to a reference website. That reference is, of course, this wiki!

If you like Fifth Edition Fallout, you might also like Horizon Zero Dragons, my new Fifth Edition hack aimed at playing in the world of Horizon Zero Dawn!
